Wed 16th April 2011 AIDA - Auditions
Vision Opera, a Leytonstone opera society is inviting people
from the local community to participate in an exciting new project: they plan
to perform a concert version of AIDA, the wonderful opera set in Egypt featuring
love, war, jealousy and pyramids in November.
Vision Opera has been in existence for a number of years
although it has not been so active lately. This is now changing, according to
Deborah Aloba, Chair and Project Coordinator: ‘We want to explore the wealth of
local talent that exists by inviting people to participate in this exciting new
venture. The beautiful, stirring music of AIDA lends itself perfectly for this.
We hope to get a good response from people for this fantastic community project.’
People are invited to participate by singing in the chorus
and auditions will take place on 16th
April in Leytonstone,
rehearsals will be on Wednesday nights on a weekly basis. The first
full performance will be on 4th November 2011 but we also have bookings
for the Leytonstone Festival and the Woodford Festival.
